Cichin da Lüce
Cichin lived in what is now Via Don Bosco, he was a farmer at the time, but he had a lot of technical skills and a desire to learn. The curate of Diano, Don Giuseppe Sarotti, obtained the exclusive concession of electricity for the municipality of Diano in 1905. There was a lot of work to be done: an entire country to illuminate. Cichin quickly learned the trade, Don Sarotti taught him the fundamentals of electricity, so he became the first electrician in Diano. At the porch of his home, in Via Don Bosco, where before he usually stopped the cart and agricultural tools, later he installed the transformer that distributed the energy to Diano's users. On 6 June 1910 the church was illuminated with 6 10-candle bulbs and shortly after another 12 illuminated the streets of the town. He later took care of the lighting of the Town Hall and a myriad of other requests. Light quickly became a precious and indispensable asset. "Cichin da Lüce" described that energy as something mysterious and he was proud of it.
