San Sebastiano chapel

The ancient chapel of San Sebastiano was located, during the 1600s, close to the Palazzo dei Conti Rangone, who took care of its maintenance and opened it for weekly religious celebrations. With the death of the last Rangone heir, the Chapel began a slow decay until it finally reached the state of abandonment which caused it to collapse. The parish priest advised making use of the chapel built by Mr. Olivero Filippo located right next to the street that takes its name from the Saint. It quickly became the new Chapel of San Sebastiano, easily accessible because it is on the road that leads to ARTare, to the Cultivation Lands, the ancient name of Via San Sebastiano. In 1911 the heirs definitively donated the Chapel to the Parish of Diano. The Chapel is currently looked after by two annual rectors resident in the Borgo.
