Electric mill

11 / 26

Don Giuseppe Sarotti, curate in Diano from 1905 to 1920, with great technological knowledge, was the founder of the mill with 5 other landowners.

It was built with very robust materials and innovative techniques for the time and worked via an electric motor.

At the time there were two other mills in Diano, one in Ricca and one in Valle Talloria, which exploited the power of the water from the Cherasca and Talloria respectively. With the arrival of electricity in Diano it was possible to operate a mill even without water. Wheat and corn were ground there. It worked continuously for decades, until 1965 when it was gradually decommissioned due to the invention of new, more efficient grinding techniques. Today it is a private home.
